Five years ago I decided to begin a series of art journals that would be something to leave behind for my granddaughters. I wanted these journals to be funny, poignant, wise, and filled with little snapshot memories of my life, and of theirs.
The journals have been all sizes and shapes, and lately they are very small and precious-feeling and are more art pieces than memories. I create and sell small starter junk journals for those who don’t know where to start . The beauty of junk journals is that there can’t be a plan. It’s a matter of sitting down with scissors, glue, a magazine or some paper, some stamps and some paint or pencils and just starting.
