My studio has bins of wood, metal, cloth, and paper. All or some of these materials might find their way onto a piece of art. Mixed media, like up-cycled art, takes time and percolating and lots of this and that.
One time I visited a private junkyard where the deceased owner’s oak barrels of sorted objects were waiting for me. One barrel had hundreds of old vintage appliance knobs in it; I thought I’d died and gone to heaven. These knobs find their way onto several pieces of my work.
